Kafue National Park from South to North

Day 1: Livingstone
Arrival in Livingstone, transfer to Maramba River Lodge. Overnight in en-suite safari tents. Dinner in the restaurant. (-/-/-)

Day 2: Kafue National Park:
In the morning we start our safari to Kafue National Park. We have time to explore the southern area of this huge park on our game drives.
Camping at Hornbill Campsite near the Nanzhila Plains. (FB).

Days 3 and 4: Kafue National Park – Lake Ithezi Thezi
We carry on to Lake Ithezi Thezi. The scenery on the lake shore is beautiful and wildlife occurs plentiful on the floodplains and shore line.
2x Overnight in chalets at Nanzhila Lake Camp. (2x FB)

Day 5 and 6: Kafue NP - Central Part
Along the Spinal Road we drive to the central area of the National Park. We do game drives in this area.
2x camping at Kasabushi Camp on the bank of the Kafue River (2x FB).

Days 7 and 8: Busanga Plains:
Transfer to Busanga Plains in the morning of day 8.This area can only be visited in a very limited time of the year. You will spend 2 days in this remote wilderness to explore the area on game drives 2x Overnight at Kasonso Camp in en-suite safari tents (2x FB).

Day 9: Kafue National Park
We drive through Kafue National Park to the central part of the park and set up our tents at Roy’s Campsite. For sunset we do a game drive in this area. Camping (FB).

Day 10: Lusaka
In the morning we pack up camp and drive to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. We stay overnight at Lilayi Lodge and can do a game walk of game drive on the farm in the afternoon. Dinner in the restaurant of the lodge at your own expense.
Overnight in spacious Chalets at Lilayi Lodge (B/L/-).

Day 11: Departure: Transfer to Lusaka airport and departure (B/-/.) 

Extenstion: Days 11, 12 and 13: Lower Zambezi National Park:
After breakfast we drive through Lusaka and down the escarpment to the Zambezi valley. A visit to the Lower Zambezi Park is one of the highlights in Zambia.
The Zambezi River on the one side and the Escarpment on the other form the backdrop of our game viewing. We do game drives in the Park and boating along the river shore to watch the animals come to drink. On one of these days we will do a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi.
We stay overnight in spacious Safari Tents at Kasaka River Lodge or Chalets at Lower Zambezi Lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River (3x FB).

Day 14: Departure:
Transfer to Lusaka and departure in the late afternoon (alternatively an additional night in Lusaka and departure on day 15) (B/-/-).

Accommodation as indicated in the program (9 nights in comfortable lodges with en-suite bathroom, 4 nights camping with shared ablution)
All camping equipment with big bow tents, stretcher, mattress and mattress cover.
All meals (except dinner in Livingstone and Lusaka).
